YOUNG DANCER BENEVOLENCE
Every child is one caring adult away from being a success story.
We believe sponsorship and tutelage of our young dancers in need is our humble contribution towards the greater good of the future of dance.
The journey of a young dancer is paved with many challenges especially in uncertain times which brings about financial constraints. The making of a successful dancer goes beyond hardwork and determination. A fledgling dancer needs to be supported and equipped with the best tools of the trade to succeed.
We sponsor when there is a need – ranging from lessons, dance shoes and leotards to costumes and examination fees. We also provide additional coaching for our diligent and deserving students. Sometimes coaching goes beyond dance as we believe in a good academic foundation for our young dancers too.
No dancer in our school shall be left behind when we can make a difference.
STEPPING OUT this is a sharing/caring program for students and parents, integrated into the Karen Barnes School. This exceptional addition of giving and exposure to children who are less privileged, provides a life learning experience for students/parents. While students focus on the disciplines of their art, the financial support and time given by parents to them can sometimes be taken for granted. This planned mixing of dance and giving, allow the children to have an opportunity to see another world where children are less fortunate. They are able then to understand balance, and learn what it takes to give back to the community in which they live. Students and parents get to give back, by face to face interaction through visitation with the children. There are varied activities, from performing to reading stories and playing games with them. This program has enabled Karen Barnes Dance to provide food, items of special need and joy to those who have difficult circumstances.
